What do you get the mom — who brought you into this world and can take you out of it — who has everything? Her own personal blend, of course!

Our Sleight of Hand Bourbon: Mother of Texas Whiskey blend will be available at the distillery starting May 3rd. It will then make its way to both Spec’s and independent liquor stores across Texas shortly thereafter.

Marcia will be at the distillery on Saturday May 3rd to sign bottles and say hello to those of y’all stopping by!

Marcia Likarish thrives on adventure and exploration. She works hard and gets things done. When Marcia believes in something, don’t mess with the bull or you’ll get the horns.

When her sons Jonathan and Robert decided to start a whiskey distillery, Marcia jumped aboard for a new adventure. She traveled alongside them to learn from the best distilling minds in the world, and spent that time learning and building community everywhere they went. It didn’t take long for some of those distillers to affectionately bestow upon her the honorific, “Mother of Texas Whiskey.”

You can see Marcia’s maternal influence in how we make our whiskey. Every barrel is treated like our children as we watch over them, care for them, and guide them to the best version of themselves. It worked with Jonathan and Robert, after all.

Marcia believes every bottle of whiskey is a small time capsule, each sip a reminder of time moving, people coming in and out of our lives, and making everyday moments special. And such moments, especially those shared with friends and family, should be celebrated with some of the finest whiskey in the world.

Our Sleight of Hand Bourbon - Mother of Texas Whiskey Blend contains fifteen barrels consisting of classic column distilled whiskeys from Kentucky and Indiana paired with our rich pot distilled Ironroot whiskey. The Ironroot bourbon selected for this special blend is an experimental mashbill that contains Magic Manna corn. The new make directly off the still tastes and smells like sugar cookies!

These two components were blended and double barreled to create a dark, mature flavor profile. It’s soft and easy to drink, but brings a depth and complexity with notes of fudgy brownies, strawberry, and cherry icing. Our Promethean bourbon is Marcia’s favorite from our core lineup, so I wanted to bring those darker flavors from that profile to her blend.
